I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Indianapolis Museum of Art. Entrance to the museum of American, European, Modern, African art (and more) is free, with fees only to access the featured exhibits (currently, Ife art in ancient Nigeria, and Native American art). There are greenhouses, the mansion of J.K. Lilly Jr., a late Indianapolis businessman, 100 km of outdoor paths to wander near the museum, and more. I imagine that it is beautiful to visit in the spring, summer or fall. If you ever find yourself in Indianapolis, GO!

Come spend NYE with Margot and The Nuclear So and So’s in addition to some of the best local and regional bands! Taking place within Deluxe at Amber Room, this year’s event will be our biggest and best by far. Located in the basement of the Murat Theatre/Old National Centre, these two beautiful and newly renovated venues will provide the backdrop for an unforgettable evening!

Margot and The Nuclear So and So’s have a new album, “Rot Gut, Domestic” coming out early in 2012, but they’ve partnered up with Bearded Flower to give all their fans a sneak peek! There will be an ultra limited release of 500 copies of a new 7” for “Prozac Rock/Fingertips” that will be available for purchase at the show! Prozac Rock is the new single, and Fingertips is a non-album track that will only be available on this vinyl pressing.

Deluxe at Amber Room is unique new venue offering access to younger patrons (18+).  We have a full evening of amazing music to keep you enchanted all night long!

Our good friends at the Amber Room will be hosting a dance party of their own featuring DJ’s Slater Hogan, John Larner and special guests mixing up great beats all night long. Access to the Amber Room (21+), which is the venue adjacent to Deluxe, can be purchased on site. Please keep in mind that you must be at least 21 to enter the Amber Room.

 Tickets for this event are broken down into the following packages:

·$25 for standard admission (18+) [Does NOT include access to the Amber Room]

·$65 for the very limited VIP package (21+) [Includes access to a private bar, VIP entrance and table service, along with access to Amber Room]

Discover the epic story of Sir Ernest Shackleton’s 1914 Endurance expedition — its astonishing panoramas, doomed ship, extreme hardships and miraculous climax. Haunting expedition photographs, diary entries and vintage film footage resurrect one of the most awesome man-against-nature sagas of the 20th century. The exhibit presents more than 150 compelling photographs of the expedition’s ordeal taken by ship photographer Frank Hurley, who dove into frigid waters to retrieve his glass plate negatives from the sinking Endurance.

The Endurance: Shackleton’s Legendary Antarctic Expedition was developed by the American Museum of Natural History, New York (www.amnh.org). Images by Frank Hurley from the collections of THE ROYAL GEOGRAPHICAL SOCIETY (with THE INSTITUTE OF BRITISH GEOGRAPHERS), THE SCOTT POLAR RESEARCH CENTER and STATE LIBRARY OF NEW SOUTH WALES.
